I have been using Byword, a minimalist text editor for Mac for a few months now. What I like about Byword is its simple screen and integration with blogs like WordPress.

When I don’t feel like using WordPress admin screen to write a post, I just open Byword, type like crazy and simply publish the post. For those who mainly write text-based post on their WordPress blog, Byword is the simplest and fastest way to write and publish their posts.

Bill Bennett wrote a review on Byword that lists many benefits of the software as a text editor. He calls Byword “the ideal Mac writing tool (…) to focus on words.” For people looking for a distraction-free writing software, Byword and iA Writer are most recommendable options.
